BIOLOGICAL PRODUCTS FOR GOLF COURSES AND PONDS 1. BIOTA MAX (also listed under agricultural products) contain beneficial microorganisms such as Bacillus subtillis GBO3 which stimulate root development and growth of turf. They also break down thatch which can be a problem in turf. The microorganisms in these products colonize the root system and increase the microbial activity in the soil, resulting in greater turf density and deeper green color. Also less fertilizer and water are needed because of a more efficient root system. 2. AQUADEX contains bacteria that biodegrade sludge, eliminate odors, inceases dissolved oxygen, and reduces algae growth in eutrophic ponds and lakes. This is a condition by which a body of water acquires a high concentration of plant nutrients, especially nitrates and phosphates (often caused by fertilizer runoff on golf courses). This nutrification promotes excessive algae and plant growth that, when they die can lead to the depletion of dissolved oxygen, killing fish and other aquatic organisms. 3. AQUADEX contains specialized bacteria to treat eutrophic ponds and to restore them to a natural, healthy condition. AQUADEX will restore a healthy oxygen level, reduce excess nutrients and algae growth, and decompose organic waste that has accumulated in the pond.
